The app can't find my RaceBox device
RaceBox devices don't have a power button — there's a single status LED, and the unit turns on automatically as soon as it detects a Bluetooth scan reaching it. If the LED stays dark even while scanning, it isn't getting power: check that it's plugged in, or that its battery has enough charge. Also confirm it isn't already connected to another phone, the RaceBox Manager app, or a dashcam, since BLE devices generally only hold one connection at a time.
What does the LED on my RaceBox mean?
The device has a single status LED and no buttons — this is what it's telling you:

Dark — no power reaching the device.
Blue — connected over Bluetooth and turned on.
Green — connected to power, battery fully charged.
Red — connected to power, battery charging.
It connects, but shows "No Fix"
A GPS fix depends on the receiver seeing enough open sky, not on the app — indoors, in a garage, or under heavy cloud cover it can take a while, or never lock at all. Take the device outside with a clear view up and give it 30–60 seconds; the satellite count on screen will climb as it locks on.
Why does the app need Bluetooth permission?
Bluetooth is the only thing this app uses. It's how the app talks to your RaceBox device to read its GPS data — there's no other reason it would ask. If you declined the prompt, you can grant it under Settings → RaceBox GPS Info → Bluetooth.
Which RaceBox devices are supported?
RaceBox Mini, RaceBox Mini S, and RaceBox Micro. Other RaceBox products that don't advertise over Bluetooth LE with the standard RaceBox naming won't show up in a scan.
Does the app collect or share my data?
No. RaceBox GPS Info doesn't include analytics, ad tracking, or a backend server — the GPS data from your device is read over Bluetooth and shown on screen, and it never leaves your phone.
What iOS version do I need?
iOS 17.0 or later, on any iPhone that supports it.
The app disconnects randomly mid-session
This is almost always a Bluetooth range or battery issue rather than the app itself — RaceBox devices have a practical BLE range of around 10 metres, less through metal or a car body. Keep your phone within a few feet of the device, and check the RaceBox's own battery level if it's been running for a long session.

Check the LED

There's no power button — the LED tells you the state. Dark means no power, so plug it in or make sure the battery is charged. Once it has power, scanning for it is what turns it on.

Confirm nothing else is connected to it

Close the RaceBox Manager app or any other app that might already hold a Bluetooth connection to the device.

Check the app's Bluetooth permission

Open Settings → RaceBox GPS Info on your iPhone and confirm Bluetooth is switched on.

Toggle iPhone Bluetooth off and on

Control Centre → Bluetooth off, wait five seconds, then back on. This clears a surprising number of stuck BLE states.

Force close and reopen the app

Swipe up from the app switcher to fully close RaceBox GPS Info, then relaunch it and scan again.

Update iOS

Settings → General → Software Update. Bluetooth LE stack fixes ship in point releases fairly often.
